Default Staintune Pipe

Hi All,

Got my staintune pipe today, took it for a quick ride and what a difference, doesn't seem to be any flat spots or anything, a bit more decel popping but feels like lots more power, or could just be my imagination, I'll post some pics when I find my camera. Jetting is still stock, apparently the staintune pipes don't require you to rejet.

Cheers
Chris.

um..... yea... im thinking you should rejet, if its more powerful, its flowing more than stock, which means its more lean than stock.....

Lean = popping on decel, I'll bet your plug is white on the electrode ceramic. You could try tweaking your air/fuel screw a half turn out, but you should probably just do it right and rejet.

Do you have a better than stock air filter? If so, then you don't have a choice.

Trial and error - I'd try one size up on the pilot jet, one notch down on the needle and one size up on the main...I think I have that right. 1.5 turns out on the air/fuel screw.

It's been a long winter.

Staintune is assuming that you are not taking off the air box lid or enlarging the opening in that lid.Withoutgiving the bike moreairflow at the input and rejetting, your power improvement will be marginal at best...'justsayin'

Then again, if you are happywith that.... To spend$800.00 Aus on a beautiful pipe and not realize it's full potentaldoesn't make a wholelot of sense, IMHO. [8D]

Cheers Guys, I'm taking my bike to a kawa mech, to get some jetting done, he's renowned as being one of the best so I will put the bike in his hands and see what he can do.

Cheers

I had my Staintune full system and 300cc bore kitinstalled by a Kawi dealer, they attempted to re-jet the carb, unfortunately,at low speeds the bike was almost unridable when I got it back. They seemingly had know idea howto tune the bike.It wasn't until I got aTM34 from Bill, that it started performing well.

I got mine second hand with the 300 cylinder for $500, not bad for a $940 system (new price) and a $600+ cylinder (new price).

The 300 cylinder will be shortly winging it's way to Bill Blue for boring out and a sleeve fitted to make it a 331 [sm=bling.gif] [sm=nxsmile.gif] [sm=wootwoot.gif][sm=gears.gif] [sm=drooldude.gif]
