squishy front brake lever?

No -thanks for the thought. There is not play in that either. It is snug...

The stainless steel line should help. I got mine from Bill Blue with 3 extra inches for bar risers. Also tied the handle back over night and used a vacuum-type unit to suck fluid from the caliper side instead of pumping the brake handle. It took a few tries but now she's very solid.

IMO the lower end Mity-Vac is very affordable and more than adequate for simple home auto and moto bleeds. It's worth the small increase over any HB product. And I have no animosity over most of the HB stuff...got lots of it myself.

The MityVac makes the brake bleed a solo job as well, no need to drag someone else into the job.

I will track one down. I have to do my wife's car as it is WAY WAY WAY overdue. My wife is always happy to pump for me but I hate asking

One other thing here. Is there anything that might be in the caliper not allowing proper seating of the pads. I had a rear pad out of place on my streetbike and it was ultraspongy. Bent the pad too. If for some reason anything might be stuck in there it could be part of the spongy feel by either not allowing the pad to seat right or it might be pushing the pad out too far from the rotor and cushioning the braking effect. Just some additional possibilities.
