If the spokes from a KDX200/220 front wheel will work with a 2006 KLX250S rim??

I don't think they are the same but they could work. I have older KLX300 wheels and ordered 250S spokes and nipples and they worked but the spokes were a good bit thicker. If you were ordering KDX spokes I think they would be thinner than what is stock on the 250S.

 

I am building a set of spare wheels and I have the rims and hubs. The front wheel I picked up from ebay a while back off a KDX200 had a ding in the rim so I wanted to put a KLX250S rim on it I got from 2K1W=N$ so I was hoping to use the same spokes without the nipples pulling through etc. The rear wheel I got off off ebay had a 19" Excel rim so I have to buy spokes for sure on that one. I figured the thickness of the spoke would be the major difference but wasn't sure how that affected the nipples [8D]. The nipples part numbers are:
KDX-41032-1061
KLX-41032-1075

Spokes:
KDX-41029-1206
KLX-41029-0004

Both spoke sizes are listed as 228MMX so maybe they are just using KDX spokes on the KLX??

I think that's just the length, the width they don't always say.

 

At the risk of being politicaly incorrect, tis not the length, tis the width. I watched Oprah once.

 

I believe the 228 is the length as I found one place listing the number 228mm x 165d so that would be 228mm long by 0.165 thousandths diameter. Funny thing is if I measure the diameter on the KLX spokes it is thicker than that. So, maybe the one place has the old spokes before they thickened them. I will figure it out.
