Default Spark Plug Question?

I went to Canadian Tire today to buy a new spark plug for my son's klx 110. It calls for an NGK CR6HSA but they only had an CR7HSA. What difference does the 6 and 7 make and will it hurt the bike to run the 7?

Appreciate any input.

Thanks

P.S. Still trying to source a 12 tooth sprocket for my '09. Any suggestions?

On the spark plug, NGK's get colder as they go up in number. The 7 will probably work, but it's probably not optimum for the bike. The 6 will be a hotter plug, but if it's the plug recommended I'd stay with it...unless you've done mods that recommend another heat range. Your KLX is a 4-stroke, and while they're not as picky about heat range as a 2-stroke, it's still important all the same.

My DTracker uses the CR8E, but I've mistakenly replaced it with a CR9E (IX since I wanted to try Iridium). It's been running fine for the past 3000km and last time I checked (read the plug) it was fine with no carbon build up at all. YMMV.
