I personally haven't used them in my klx tyres, but I have used them for ages in my MTB tyres and now would never have anything else. I buy tubes directly from Slime with the Slime pre-packaged in them (since it's hard to add to Presta valve tubes). I have watched my MTB tyres take a nasty thorn, start hissing as they deflate and then slowly seal up as I continue riding - tyres go down from 40psi down to ~20psi before the slime catches the leak. I ride a little bit more until the slime has set and then stop and pump up. Magic stuff. I have expensive tyres which I keep in good condition but still without the slime I'd probably cop several punctures a week. Never found any balance issues with them in my 29er tyres, the quantity you need in a motorbike might be more significant, but I doubt it would be a huge issue. Because under centrifugal force it should average itself well enough around the circumference of the tyre.

The largest negative I've found is if you leave your bike sit for awhile, depending on where the valve is relative to the ground, the slime can bog up the valve and make it hard to inflate or deflate your tyre if you need to when it’s cold – for those that don’t mess around with their tyre pressures this might not be a problem at all. Once it all warms up its no problem.

Haven’t suffered a puncture in my KLX tyre yet, only had the bike a couple months. I will be adding slime or some other similar product for sure though, at least to try it out.

I'm still 50/50 on this, so i'm going to give it a go & squirt this horrible stuff in.

Seeing as parts & labour at Kawasaki are so cheap here, worst case scenario is the slime is pooling in my tires in the morning & annoys me or the wheel balance is effected at high speed!!! Then i'll have to whip the tubes out & start a fresh.

Main objective is not to get a flat miles from home late at night....bike theft here is rare but dumping an obviously broken down bike in a strange area is asking for trouble.

 

I use it and recommend it in tubed motorcycle tires. No balance issues and no flats. The only time I even remember that it is in there is when I don't get a flat and everyone else does, or when I check tire pressure and spooge a little out. The proper way is to push a little air in and then check pressure to avaoid losing any slime.

I have UHD tubes, rim locks, slime, and higher than normal air pressure to prevent flats.

 

No going back now......Kawasaki green SLIME is installed!!

Ok, been riding with this green slimy stuff in my tires for nearly a week now & after the easier than anticipated installation, my main concerns about this stuff have not been a problem.

I really cannot feel any difference in the feel of the bike after leaving it standing over night, with the slime pooling at the bottom of the tires issue! No problem.

The klx wobble of death over 85/90mph (140+kmh) actually seems to be better than without the slime......this stuff must help the wheel balance a tad

So i'm still a mild mannered klx'er & this stuff didn't turn me angry & green!!

 

Slime update:

I put in half the recommended amount, as that was all I had....It is very difficult to get in Thailand btw.

6 months (10,000kms) & NO punctures!! This is a miracle on Thai roads with soft racing tires!! Amazing stuff.

I have pulled shards of glass & bits of metal out of the tires with confidence over the last 6 months.....3 times for sure i would have had to fit new tubes, because I actually saw some greenish liquid seeping from a couple of the holes for a few hours & then the next day no more green stuff & tire stays at correct psi.

The only time i have ever thought that a new tube is needed, after waking up to a flat tire...I have been proved wrong.
This is usually after checking tire pressures with a gauge & the tire is at the wrong angle & some Slime seeps into the valve causing it to gum-up & slowing go flat. The valve should be at 3 or 9 o'clock angles when checking psi pressures.

If your tire is slowly loosing pressure like my front & back tires did, then screw in a new valve & it will be fixed. Or just change the valves every couple of months, if your the type to do weekly pressure checks!

Then you can enjoy riding over any road surface & have peace of mind that you will get home without dumping your bike on a dodgy area road late at night with a flat.

 

Here's my experience with slime. Early last spring my front tire got a mysterious flat while parked over night (I know it's weird). The strange thing is that my tire rapidly lost air when it went. I filled up the tire and it would go flat in less then 5 minutes.

My mechanic who is my buddy who's not actually a mechanic....gave me slime and we put 2-4 oz in the front tube. All he had was tubeless slime which I questioned as we were pouring it into my tube but he reassured it would be fine. I was skeptical. The slime sealed the flat immediately and also the valve core! I haven't been able to check my tire pressure since. I rode all season hard on BC Mountian roads and goat trails. No problems with the tire.

Im not gonna touch the tube until it goes flat again or I replace the front tire. That being said, i will probably get stranded 100 km off pavement, but dont worry, my non mechanic friend has a douche rope for that occasion should it come. The stuff works.

 

SLIME UPDATE No.2

Nearly a year now on the same tire & inner tube!!! wow

But if I leave my bike in the Thailand midday sun for any length of time, i'm seeing very small green blobs showing on the top of the tire!!! I have counted 6 different places on the tire that show this strange phenomenon of a green excretion!! But the tire pressure does not go down btw, even with 6 definite puncture holes in the tire.



I think it's finally time to fit a new inner tube & some more of this wonderful stuff called slime.

 

maybe you should start importing large quantities of slime at wholesale pricing and start selling it all the local shops as a distributor...

 

That's a very good idea with the Slime, another product not available here is Sea Foam fuel treatment!! Could make a small fortune!!
