Went for a nice ride yesterday to the forest.. It's about 1hr drive from me. Never been there before - I've been to a few other forests in the Berkshires though..
Started off down one trail that was bit more rocky than I'd like it.. My buddy Charly on his YZ426 took a small tumble right away and bent his gear shift lever within the first 10 mins.. We were pretty sure we had to turn around and call it a day already, but some trail-side repairs got us going again
If we did end up leaving - we'd probably never have came back.. That first trail was a beeeyotch with all the rocks!
Anyway, we got through that, and there were nice trails everywhere.. Some nice lakes, ponds, and rivers spread out through the forest. Also - since it was a weekday - we were the ONLY two people in the whole forest.. It was awesome!
Anyways, didn't get a lot of pics, but here's a couple:
Our bikes - small river in the background

A pond we came up to - couple beaver homes in the middle - all built with mud and sticks. Can see one right in front of my headlight

This was a water crossing we came to and did (sorry, no vid!!) It was insane. About 40ft long, and about 3.5-4ft deep in the deepest part.. It was pretty hairy, but we both made it through. Actually had to do it twice because when trying to find out way back to the truck we had to backtrack..

And some crazy little caterpillar that we saw while taking a little break![Big Grin](https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

If anyone has Google Earth and wants to see our path - here's the KML file.
Also if you ever want to go there, can follow this track. The "HOME" point is where we parked the truck..

Happy riding!

Did you see the old rail road tie in the water? I forget if you have to stay to the left or the right of it but obviously you stayed to the correct side. It's get stupid deep and there's a nice dip at one place. Consider yourself fortunate. That little crossing there eats bikes

No, must have mussed that!! Dam. I was a little un-easy about going across.. We didn't even know how deep it was on the other side - we just said "effit" and crossed our fingers ![Big Grin](https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Gotta bring vid cam next time.

I think this last one is my buddy Claudio on his Transalp.
And this is what happens when you don't exactly make it thru the water

Looks like you guys had a great time. Better than what I am doing. Imagine having to drive 500 miles so your wife can go to a baby shower.
Should have put the bike in the back of the truck. Oh well, at least there are some good gun shows going on this weekend.
