RE: Some get busy - IMS tank on eBay
Todd,
I'm like you and prefer the white model so i can see how much fuel.
Do you think IMS follows these forums-i.e. will they ever make a klx250s version????????
I was all set to do the tank on the back of the seat but after seeing how well yours turned out I'm at a standstill.

You know, I kinda doubt they ever will but maybe they'll prove me wrong. It seems to me they're not much interested in change. For example, they never changed the tank design to fit the KLX300R shrouds. It's still the same tank they made for the '94-'96 KLX250. It would need only the most minor of tweaks to fit the KLX300R but they never bothered.
To be an direct bolt on to our bike it would need some very minor tweaks as well:
1) Re-configure the top "wings" slightly to fit the KLX250S shrouds
2) Move the coil recess in the face of the tank down 1/2"
3) Compress the lower front face on the right side just a tad to clear the fan (might cost some volume but not much).
4) Re-work the petcock fitting to accept the screw-in fittings from our tank.
That's it. Otherwise it's a direct fit once you move the wires on our bike out of the way.

I’d like a clear tank for obvious reasons too, but I found a product that I may use with a non-clear tank if I go that route. For $6.95, why not?
