Just got a new APP for my 8GB iPod touch (a gift from my big sis.) It's called "Memory Stick." Lets you add all sorts of files onto the touch from your home computer, Pdf included. Just added the full 14.3 Mb KLX250 service manual Pdf with 300R supplement. Works sweet. Now I have the tools AND the info' in my pocket where ever I ride.

I've been using it (iPod) on rides for a while now. I check Google Earth for the riding terrain, scale the screen to 10km (margin to margin) and then save the screen as a jpeg image onto my desktop. I create a series of images for the entire ride then I just add them to the photo file on the iPod. On the go you can zoom or scale the photos knowing they cover 10km max (margin to margin) and as a bonus all the photos have a compass scale too to orientate you to the terrain. Sweet.
Aerial photography is awesome over the local terrain of Western Australia, all the sunny days I guess. I,ve used the same method to add town plan maps sourced from google maps, works a treat too.
It's a bit like having access to your own military drone.

Wrong end of the "stick" mate. Haha.
Its an APPlication for the iPod Touch, software. It allows me to add just about any type of file to the iPod.
Got a hard memory stick too, found it at the beach. It had lots of pics of crazy japanese tourist chicks (now deleted,) and yes it's well handy.

Yeah, I use my HTC Mogul phone while riding. It's windows mobile with a built in GPS. I have google maps at my disposal, Path-Away (tracking off-road program) TomTom for street nav, etc. Also will read PDF's and will do pretty much anything you want.
Then tapped into my bike's power so it charges constantly, and I put in in a Ram Mount.
Don't leave home without it

nothing beats satellite photos for finding random tracks/alleyways.
We now constantly use them on our exercises, especially in forestry areas, where paths and roads open up and close within weeks.
