That works pretty good in most cases but when riding in or across a water body that method will put you in the water more often than not. You need to avoid the boulders by picking your way through them.

I am starting to think I need a KLR too, all the cool kids have both.

LOL. New fork seals. You can see the fork tubes to the right of the bike leaning upside down against the wall. The wheel is on the left of the pic, by the klx.

As you can see, quite a few of us here have KLRs too. It's an ideal complement to the KLX. I rode mine everywhere before I got tired of picking up a 430 lb. pig on the side of a muddy hill in the rain. Did Death Valley 3 years with it, then took the KLX. Much easier. I still use the KLR for camping trips and long street rides and put a lot more miles on it than the KLX. But I have more fun per mile on the little bike. Check out KLR.net, you will get a ton if info there, lots of help when you need it and see some of the same people over there.
