Soft Surface Tire Upgrade

Soft Surface Tire Upgrade
This past weekend I saw something that really has me thinking.
One of the attendees at Tda had a KLR650 and a Super Sherpa with a modified front wheel / tire combo. The Sherpa mod caught my eye and the lens of my camera. Both ends of the bike sport a 4.60 x 18 Chen Shin tire. The bike goes through sand like there is no tomorrow. Might just have to order an Excel rim and spoke kit at my earliest opportunity.
Here's some pics.
Side by side comparison.
Most of my riding is done in some soft sand. This might just be the ticket for doing just that! I know I saw her go through some sand with the Sherpa that gave me a bit of trouble on the KLX - tended to want to dig the front tire in. Some throttle got me through, but the Sherpa kind of 'glided' over that same sand!
Perhaps I'll give the Kenda 3.25 front tire a try to see if there is any improvement first!

RE: Soft Surface Tire Upgrade
We had a couple of folks that wanted to do the Squidly thingie.
I don't believe in it. I won't take pictures of those folks. The picture was from someone else, just wanted to show that she could indeed ride that bike on soft sand.
Thanks for the question.
