That track and ski set-up that was in an earlier post would be perfect on those trails...if only I had $4000.00

With sugar sand you can at least get up on top. That was NOT happening with this stuff. And it was so inconsistant, whenever I did start to get up on top, it would just sink like a rock again and I'd end up working the clutch just to keep the tire turning. 1st was too slow to get moving and 2nd didn't have enough grunt to keep it spinning in the deep stuff. I'll take sugar sand to deep snow any day....and I hate sand

Yeah that does look like it was a workout. I use to try and take my mini dirtbikes out in the snow as a kid. I never had any fun because all you do is spin and constantly try to keep the bike from sliding out all the while maybe topping 5 mph. I really don't see the point myself. It's just hard on everything including yourself. Now ice riding would be different, but from what I've heard from my atv friends- the motorcycle guys, even with sharp screws, are constantly falling down as well. I've never did ice myself so I can't say how it would be from experience. But snow is no fun as far as I can remember.

they constantly fall down huh? i doubt it. i've been out with guys that ride an oval and hit 100mph on the straights and corner like a train on rails. do they go down? yes they do but it's only after the corners get all chewed up and start to get covered with snow.
Josh you need at least 2 screws in every **** and the larger middle ***** need as many as you can get to fit. also you should use some sort of glue on thethreads as you drill them into the tire otherwise you'll start to throw them. the screws are not meant to be used on the road. once they get dull they need to be replaced.

Yep, I'm aware of the road killing them but I was pretty damn bored and needed a fix There's too much snow on the rivers right now and the ice is thin. I've got plenty of time to order more screws. 8" or less of snow and its actually fun. When you get over a foot like we have now its definitely an exercise in futility.

COol man. But yeah, wet snow, rain, warm weather... In the snow that makes it hard going, you want it nice and cold, with dry snow. At least that way it's not so heavy and holds the bike back. I took mine out the other night after watching your vid.. haha.. I got inspired and got a major craving to ride the bike, all the plastics were off of it because I was trying to fit a new rear fender, and i had the front plastics off too when adjusting the needle..
It was wayyyy fun, but the snow was dry and it was about -8 degrees Celcius. The ice was pretty fun in the driveway too. I could get the tire spinning in third in the snowgoing about walking speed, and at some points 4th, but it just wanted to bog out in 4th.
