None whatsoever

It makes yanking the carb easier and lowers gas temps in the pipes if you remove it.

I know this doesn't affect everyone (just yet anyways, and not outside of the USA) but big brother probably monitors web sites and reads stuff like smog system removal*. Here in Kalifornia there is a bill sb 435 (?) I'm not positive thats the exact #, but it will make smog checks manditory for '2000 and newer bikes. That means on plated bikes no more aftermarket pipes, carbs, jet kits, and the like along with the MAN being able to just check your bike visually and give you a special prize (equipment violation ticket).

On another site I was told to go to PMs to talk about that kind of stuff so that the sie rra club suck a$$es couldn't use the information against us. It makes alot of sense but I know that if your not from Kalifornia you might think it doesn't affect you. But since the doo doo that occurs here usually makes its way across the usa you might be keeping the crap away for abit longer...

just a thought.

You can thank Obama administration for the proposed new laws. In moves to "protect the environment", they take large chunks of the economy hostage.

What, you said you wanted change?

There is no reason currently to "bring it to PM". Throw your smog kits out! I did!

If there are "checks" like during inspection, just put the kit on and rejet for your test. Go home and return to whatever mod setup you like.

It would be easier to pay the "extra" $50 to get the "passed" smog check. I do if for my Cadillac every year.

Come find me CHP!

How does that work? Basically you wouldn't pass, but for $50 they overlook it?
