Great job ! that looks easier than cutting out a new plate.I never get tired of the new ways you guys find to mod these bikes.

 

Now i did the same thing but did anyone notice the add at the top of the screen???? for HYDROBLOCK? it says they specialize in small production numbers of special aluminum parts.....looks to be a primo supplier for us....just an observation.

 

what exactly is the smog block off plate supposed to do?

 

Nothing really. Just dresses up the front of the engine a bit when you remove the smog crap instead of having the old part with a vacuum cap on it. I have a B&B block of plate for mine that I never bothered to install since the capped stock piece is just fine. You can't see it really anyway unless you really go looking for it.

I'll get around to installing it someday.....

 

Thanks! What does removing all the smog stuff Actually do tho? From what I gather it somehow cools the exhaust? Also If you block off all the smog tubes how does that air get out? Thanks!, pobably going to block off mine today!

 

The smog equipment injects fresh air into the exhaust so that more of the unburned fuel can be burned in the exhaust with catalytic converter for cleaner air. So, without the smog equipment, less heat in the exhaust with the result of more pollution. If you block the smog tube, that air that was going to move from the airbox through the smog lines to the exhaust doesn't get out.

 

So by blocking the smog odd does this trap in anything?
