Slightly bent fork = me freaking out!
So the other day I was riding and on a pipe line when I took a turn a bit to hard and stupidly that I dumped the bike a bit harder then usual lol. No big deal, I walk it off, look to see if there's any damage then carry on my way There was no damage at all to the bike except I bent my front break leaver (which is now fixed).
However on the way home I notice that I was steering ever so slightly by a couple of degrees to the right to keep the bike straight. I got home checked everything and everything seemed fine. Handle bars, the mounting brackets, forks, everything is lined up at a stand still and seemed fine but when I start riding I start to compensate to the right to go straight which is barely noticeable.
I heard this is kinda common and that all I did was tweaked the forks in the triple trees a bit and that all I need to do is loosen the forks a bit from the tree clamps and straighten things back up then tighten. Am I on the write track or way off?????
Sorry for the long post!
But please help! I'm going crazy over this

Find a pole or a tree, and hit the wheel against the same side you think the front end is crooked (as in, if its twisted to the left, tap the left side of the wheel). It won't take much, and you may go too far with the first hit. My mechanic taught me that trick. He said its a miracle that the forks stay straight while riding; they're barely held straight by the clamps.

Yep like Clifsta said. Remember when you were a kid and your bicycle bars got tweaked and you just put the tire between your legs and twisted it back? Same principle, although you will need to loosen the clamps slightly. Its all good. All of my friends have done it to their bikes. I haven't had it happen to me yet....you know because I'm too good to drop my bike. Oh no he di'int. LOL

God thank's soo much guys. I was almost loosing sleep over this. I thought I was going to have to fork up some coin for a new fork! Man, last night around midnight I brought the bike into my apartment and started jacking it up and taking the front fender off just too see for sure if something was tweaked and sure enough the tire slightly points to the left but barely noticeable to the naked eye
Yeah I hear ya punkenduro09 stock handle bars are junk. I love my Renthal's they are tough as hell. **Knock on wood**

You tweaked the forks, not bent. And here I thought you did what I did when I had my bicycle. Crash into a brick building and bend the forks completely backwards.
Also, helmets really do work.
