Default Shrunk wrapped toolkit

One of my pet peeves is having to remove all my tools when I wash my bike. So I decided to shrink wrap my tools with my wife's food saver. It's great! It'll keep everything dry and it also compacted them too.

Here's where I mount my tool bag. It's under my rack so I have the whole surface to use. I can then just slide my sealed toolkit in and out.

Good idea, especially mounting it under the rack! I have my tools in one of my tool tubes (other has first aid kit) and it's waterproof also.

yup good idea. Keeps them from rattling around. How durable is the material they are sealed in? I have all of mine wrapped in duct tape. Keeps them in a tight package.

Nothing beats duct tape Dan. The food saver bags seem pretty sturdy though.

Looks like a one-time use item. Does it have to be cut open? Is it recloseable?

Sure looks rattleproof.

It does, which some might not like. But I'll only need to open it if I breakdown. I can seal 'em in a new bag afterwards.

I never wash my bike except at the end of the season....maybe.

I like the under the rack mount. Have you thought about using a heavy freezer ziplock or double bagging them? Would seem easier then having to cut open the bag each time and having to reseal. That's what I do and I never have problems...or think twice about the hassles of grabbing a tool.

My tool bag gets opened nearly every time I ride with the buddies. They are always needing something from my kit. Reminds me....time to replenish the bailing wire.

My tool kit has completely taken over my Wolfman Enduro tank bag. In fact, it only carries tools. But I can do any trail side repair necessary.
I love that idea though.
@IDRDR - I carry a wire coat hanger instead of bailing wire. They mostly use string here on the bails.
