Show me some handguards!?!

RE: Show me some handguards!?!
Aw shoot, Dan, sorry you didn't like them. Serves me right for giving advice. [:@] I loved mine and thought they worked great as is(was). Actually, I ended up shortening the connecting rod piece on the clutch side to keep the brake like from rubbing up against it, but I only did that after I owned them for a while. But it looks like you have a different brake line so maybe you didn't experience that. The right side was close, but I found that while it touched the rubber cover on the master cylinder, it didn't press hard up against it and mine never wore a hole there as far as I can remember.

Here are MSR Hawkins hand guards mounted on my bike. Check out this page for more details on a mod that I did for a better and stronger fit: http://klx250s.suncup.net/MSR%20Handguards/index.html

RE: Show me some handguards!?!
Brian, it was good advice, I do like them! I'm pretty brutal to my bike on the trail and I think that they have held up very well given the circumstances. Others that I have looked at (no first hand usage experience) don't seem to be as sturdy -- maybe not much better than the stock elephant ears(appears as though they might break if I look at them wrong).
However, little bit of tweaking will get them (the MSR hand guards) to be a superior product in terms of strength.

yes, I mean aftermarket ones but we can find two different kinds on the market, the ones that you fix on the handlebars only and another model that you fix on the handlebars and in the end of the handlebar (hard for me to explain well in english but...) So what i'm trying to say is that the first model does'nt look as strong as the second one...

The ones with only one fixation point aren't worth squat.
