They don't have much power (even compared to the KLX in stock form), but I'm sure much fun can be had.

Speaking of Honda's, I saw a small Honda Dual sport today. I believe it said CRF230L on it. Looked about 6" lower than the KLX and was air cooled. Could be pretty neat on the trails.

I like the looks of the 'F' series BMWs. Especally the one you are about the get. It'salso much better for'inseam challenged riders' likeme. There isa small issue with vibration at cruising speed, if you can put upwith it. That's typically BMW though. I'd take take theuprighttwin over the boxer any day though.

I don't think I would ever get used to the boxer engine. They consume oil at a pretty alarming rate even when new. I friend of mine just bought an R1150R. Youhave to lift the fuel tankjust to get at the battery andthe fuel lines haveplasticquick disconnects that fail with age...but hey it's the bike he's always dreamed of having, so who am I to argue.

I'm patiently waiting for the F800GS....The klx will then be a strictly street legal dirt *****.I will then have a long distance dual-sport that isn't scared of dirt.
