Shorten yer shift levers!

Shorten yer shift levers!
The **** on the stock shift knub is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too long for any serious offroad riding. Have a sat on a WR or a CRF and you'll see what I mean.
I took about .5 in off of the knub, you can probably do more without making it any harder to shift.

Mine are cut down to where I only use one or two fingerson both sides (most of the time one). I wouldn't have it any other way. If you got city boy hands, you might struggle a little bit with this setup.

The SHIFT lever sticks out too far from the side of the bike, and will get caught on your boot for sure if you try to go offroad. I kept knocking the thing into neutral last time I took her offroad.

I have gotten used to shifting with mx boots on (lever is still also in stock position). But I will look into maybe cutting the nub down some. Do we have an aftermarket lever option yet?

I just got used to shifting with mx boots, but know what your saying about knocking it in neutral. That happens a lot in tight quarters. I think oversized aftermarket pegs would help also. It would keep the boot from falling off the pegs so much, and smacking the shift lever.
