Short vid of today's ride
Well don't expect much, but I got the bug to "film" some bits of me on the trails... and we no longer have a helmet cam (dad killed it). So I took some static footage of me on a few sections of the trails in Camp Livingston this afternoon. I wanted to shoot more (and some fast sections) but its pretty hard to make yourself get out of the rhythm to set up the camera I had a GREAT ride, except for crashing and pretzel'ing my shift lever But even with that it was a blast. Trails were great. A tad on the muddy side but almost perfect.
Tried to cut out as much of the "I'm walking away from the camera... I'm starting the bike" time waste as I could. The two little hillclimbs are about 20 feet off of the trail... the trail runs along an old gravel pit and they made this pile (I assume) to keep the gravel pit junk out of the creek (you can see the bottom in the background). No real good places to set the camera in the woods but stumps and on the ground, so expect lots of low-angle shots haha...
And I killed the shift lever going around a corner in 2nd gear (probably about 15 mph I think)... there was some pinestraw accumulated in the rut I thought I was clear of it on the berm but I guess I wasn't as I hit it and went sliding. Probably my funnest crash in a while cause I got spit off the bike and went sliding on my side
Anyways enough rambling here's the Youtube link and a couple photos.

Shift lever after my "accident"
I was able to get my hand in there and pry it away from the footpeg then put my boot on it and get it workable... Supposed to rain all weekend anyway so now I have a project.
Very glad I took off my mirror and stashed it in the woods as soon as I got out there, or I would be short one mirror.
I know I'm not an A rider (or a B... or a C) so don't go too hard on me lol

I wonder if this would interest you, no more static riding vids with this camera. I just got one and the quality is incredible.
