My bike refuses to even get close to mud holes like that. Now hose that thing off!

I rode it to work today like that. It's like a "badge of honor!" My co-workers are a little confused... "you're almost 40 years old, what do you think you are, a kid?"

...yep!

I've got about 80 acres of northwest woods about 1/4 mile from the house. All sorts of trails to explore on evenings and such. I've been tracking them on GPS, overlaying on Google earth, etc... what a fun way to waste time!

I'm 48, and find that this is the most fun way to work up a sweat, and get the heart pounding! I was out a couple nights ago, deep into a new area looking like it's in the middle of nowhere, trying out a trail that hasn't been used in a couple years... finally gave up after the 3rd log, impending sunset, and exhaustion set in! Back over the logs, and then 3 minutes later I'm back home!

It's really great. Also, if the bike breaks down, it's not like it would be too difficult to just walk home. I think the farthest I got away from the house was 3 miles. You would never have known it by the terrain. It felt like I was 100's of miles from anywhere. Deep dark woods, with nothing but trees, streams, and mosquitos. It's a blast. I never even knew that it existed until I started doing google earth reconnaissance.
