You didn't mention whether you are specifically looking for a dual-sport or any bike. Many cruisers have seat heights in the 28"-29" range. If crusiers are out, Suzuki makes a standard, TU250, that has a 30" seat height. My girlfriend is 5 foot 3ish and can nearly flat-foot the TU250.

She rides a Yamaha XT225. She's on her tippy-toes, but she can ride it. On the street, she's fine, but in the dirt, she feels the bike is too tall and top-heavy and routinely takes soil samples (mostly just falling over after stopping because she loses her footing).

I'm looking right now into what it will take to dual-sport a KLX140L. Kawasaki already makes a dual-sport version, but calls it a KLX150s. From what I can see, it's only available in SE Asia though.

OK so I decided to get a little more background info. I was mistaken this is the bike she had. She was compareing it to a ninja becuase she thought I would not understand what it was. Also sorted out that it was not lowered but really needed to be for her. She had to either put one foot on the curb, or slide her hip off the bike. Here is a photo and what specs I could find but still no seat height

GS 250 FW 1983
Overall Length: 2,045 mm (80.5 in)
Overall Width: 735 mm (28.9 in)
Overall Height: 1,240 mm (48.8 in)
Wheelbase: 1,400 mm (55.1 in)
Dry Weight: 158 kg (348 lbs)
Engine type: water-cooled 249 cc inline-2, DOHC, 4 valves. 36 hp / 11,000 rpm, 2.3 kg-m/ 10,000 rpm.

Yea my bad. I should have put out more info on priorities.

1 Gotta be plated.
2. She's 110# so lighter bike is prefered.
3. Im on a KLX 250(330) so she can't be on something with more cc with half my weight!
4. Prefer dual sport but I think she would probably ride only on slab/dirt roads
5. price
6. If I could lower a KLX250sf I woudl be most pleased as then I have comon parts.
Cheers Jim
PS Thanks for the suggestions. I am checking them out as quickly as I can

OK
I need a clarification on "seat Height"
I broke out my adjustable sawhorses and set them up at 35" and I cant flat foot them at all and I'm 5'11. I lowered them and set one up on a slant so I could check what height I thought she could deal with. I came up with 29" maybe 30" pushing it.
What I am wondering is the relationship to seat height as quoted and the height of the seat with her on the bike. She is only 110" so she probably wont compress it as much as most but what do you guys think would a 32" seat height bike actuly be with 110" sitting on it? I know it would be diff for diff bikes but lets just guestimate for a dual sport bike.
cheers Jim
