What Kawi wawi said. The 300 shift star will not fit. He did a good job grinding his own. I was going to do this over the winter, but after reading that the 09 has a redesigned shift mechanism for more positive shifts I think I am going to wait and see if the 09 shift star will fit the 06-07's. Many have also reported better shifting with an oil change.

I'm Good Deej, It's been awhile hasnt it. I dont post to often but I still drop in once in awhile to see what everybody is up to. To answer others questions yes I did a oil change about 300 miles ago and I use Amsoil 10w40 in the bike so that shouldnt be the issue. Maybe I'm just not pulling up enough with my foot when shifting. I only asked because I had seen the Star thing before when doing a search for our klx250 on the net and thought maybe that would help the issue. Thanks Guys....

How 'bout adjusting the shift lever down a littlebit. That might give you a bit more leverage when hitting 2nd.

maybe we should all do what IG says and just unload our bikes for another model??????that would be the real fast fix for someone who is lame and not mechanically inclined...eeh?

first things first.how many miles do you have on your bike?not you IG as we all know it's prolly about 55,000 miles as you know all about these transmissions.but the fellow who asked the question posted.

Just checked out Kawasaki's web site looking for a part number for the star to see if it has changed. They have the the '09 listed but no parts diagrams yet.
