Default shift star

Dug around for awhile trying to find the aftermarket shift star for the 06 KLX, with no luck. Easier to ask. Anyone got the supplier and part number?

You can grind your stock shift star to work better. I did and haven't had a problem since and it's been well over 3000 miles.

Grind it where? And why? Forgive the stupid question if you will.

I'm wondering if you could just replace it with one from an 09? Kawi was suppossed to have addressed that issue on the 09 models. I have an 09 and it has no shifting/ popping out of gear or false neutral problems.

i have gotten false neutrals, 2nd has popped out, and i completely broke the star at one point. warrenty work, didnt see the star but im guessing it broke for 1-2 shifts, seeing i had no up shifts, just 1st and neutral. the 09 is in no way better. if it brakes again, im going with the four stroke works shift start, i have herd its beefyer and has a better design for the shifting problems.

This is the first time I've ever heard of anyone breaking the star!
FSW just reshapes the stock star.

The bike has always shifted hard. Misses alot of gear changes and my last ride popped out of first gear which resulted in putting the bike down. The shifting star may be the problem.
