Search reveals a lot of folks here have adjusted their shift lever up a notch to make shifting with MX boots easier. I don'thave proper pair ofMX boots, but I do wear very stiffall leather hiking boot and I find I have the opposite problem- I actually need to lift my foot off the foot peg to upshift. I just can't rotate myfoot up enough to catch the next gear. Has anyone else had this problem, or it just poor technique on my part? I don't know how to tell if the PO already adjusted the lever up, but I'm thinking ofmoving it down a notch this weekend. Any tips or pointers?

Hey vtgreen,
It's not real hard, just undo the bolt and move down 1 spline at a time. Most important is get it where it is comfortable for you, but don't have it below the foor peg if you ride in the bush - will get snappd off first rut, log etc

Thanks guys, it looks like a simple adjustment. Any tips on my ridingposition or shifting techniquemaybe? I'm usually in a pretty relaxed position, just tooling around on paved and dirt roads. If Imove upcloser tothe tank it actually makes it worse since it causes my foot to angle down more. Am I the only personhaving this issue?? My feet aren't that small (size 10) andthe boots I wear have a pretty good sized toe box.

Another possibility might be that you are not wedging your foot far enough down between the shifter and the foot peg. I actually use the top of my foot close to the ankle to shift, its a lot easier than pivoting your whole foot.
And no it doesn't hang down too low, but I change the way I shift on the trails as things tend to try and grab anything hanging low.

I find myself lifting my foot off the peg sometimes when I shift, seems like I do it more when I am on the street. When riding trails I don't normally lift my foot.

I had trouble adjusting my lever, I could not get it to
go up a few splines it always would go way to far up.
In the end I gave up and assumed that it only went from one
extreme to the other. If other people got it to go up in small increments I'll try again.

just move it up one spline,,, you can only rotate it on how many splines there are.... its not like you can put it anywhere you want. I moved mine up.
