Default She up and quit

I have a stock 09. Stock as far as the motor, carb etc..... Anyhow, today was second time the bike has done this. I was coming home doin bout 30mph. came up to a corner, pulled the clutch and the bike died. It all happened really fast as i was starting to make the corner. I wasn't draggin a knee with TM's. I pulled the clutch to down shift one gear. Wasn't boggin comin into the corner at all. Anyhow, i;m kinda sure it died when i hit the clutch cause i didn't get thatt engine drag as if i was in gear. Anyhow, took the corner dead, shifted to neutral and the bike started up. The first time i had to pull over and the bike wouldn't start, this was about 2 months earlier. Took a few attempts. I'm just looking for what you think, could be anything. It's one of those you have to experience to diagnose i think. I haven't cut the clutch or kick stand switches yet. Just an odd feeling when the bike suddenly dies. Didn't feel like a seize either, unless 4 strokes don't make the noise 2 strokes do when they die. lol

First thing that comes to mind is the kickstand switch, bypass it and see if you still have an issue. (maybe) bike should have started in gear with the clutch pulled if the kick stand switch was working.

Maybe something wrong with the clutch safety switch, sounds funny that it started right up when you stuck it in neutral.

A clogged pilot jet can act like this...but, usually you have a hard time getting it to idle, or to start without using some enrichener lever. Did you have any associated electrical-related hints occurring at the time?

she idles fine, normally have to have it in neutral to start it always. Always have to use the choke to start it unless it's still hot. Still a cold blooded pig, putting it away in a week. Maybe cut the clutch and stand switches. In the spring i'll tear the carb out and jet it.

Check your idle.... i had my nighthawk doing that... when i pulled the clutch in it died 2-3 times..... then i realized it was the idle.

She up and quit? Last time I had this happen, it was a jetting problem. It was my ex-wife...putting her on a jet back to her Mama got my life back to running smooth.

Hope that helps somehow....
