Your 1/2" spacer looks fine. If you like the muffler, keep it. If I had to use a 1" spacer I might also consider getting rid of it. I have a Four Stroke Works exhaust on my KLX300 that was making the edge of my fender black from the exhaust. It did not "rub" the fender like yours but just was not angled right. I used a 1/2" aluminum spacerfrom my Pro Taper handle bars that I cut off and a couple of washers. I also had to buy a longer bolt. This has worked perfectly and will not vibrate or come loose and is not noticed by anyone but me because I know it's there.

I thought with a 1" spacer you only had 3/8" of clearance, less than 1/2". How can you now have enough clearance with only a 1/2" spacer?

I think the footpeg wasnt let me rotate it enough before. I now only need a 1/2" spacer.

Im gonna keep it now....this item is no longer for sale.

I have some ideas on how to modify this even more and we have welders at work with TIGS that owe me favors.

Thanks for the advice Brian...you sparked new energy into me today...lol

[sm=icon_cheers.gif] Glad to help!

Everyone's different, and sometimes I just don't want to hassle with fab, but in general I enjoy customizing and making things precisely the way I want, even if it means the end result is not super-polished. I kind'a like that "industrial" look - highly functional and to me that gives it beauty. Kind'a like Han Solo's Millennium Falcon . Sometimes you might need to bang the instrument cluster to engage hyperspace, though.

Not sure what everyone is making SUCH a BIG deal about........................
Mine contacted the fender (barley) when installed with the spacer provided. I added a couple stainless washers and a longer bolt, problem solved.

I guess the big deal is, when you spend almost $300 for a product that was to be custom made for a specific bike, then that product should fit without any user modification.
