A bit of unnecessary trivia...
Straps are substitute for the passenger grab rails. In some countries by law there has to be some way for a passenger to hold on. My Nighthawk S and Gold Wings had rear rails, so no strap, but the Zephyr and KLXs didn't have rails, they had the grab straps.
