Looks comfy.
It looks like aftermarket seats are narrow in the front like the stock.
Do these seats interfere with your legs while standing at all.

Default Finished

This morning I got some spray adhesive and put it together. I put he foam on the pan and marked it with a sharpie. Then I spayed the adhesive on the pan and foam. I attached the foam and put the cover on. Staples in the ends and sides first. Then I started streaching the cover. I could push the stapler in to the foam and pull the cover a little tighter as I went.

On the bike tomorrow.

David

Oh why on why do you post stuff like this!! Now I want one! Actually the seat on my 04 KLX 330RS is quite tired anyways! It is cool that they make a kit for older KLX's!

I thought I was done modding this bike! HAHA

I take it the old foam wasn't glued? Just wondering if gluing the new is really necessary? What do you think? One thing I know for sure is that the stock seat needs something done to it.

Yes the old foam was attached all the way around the outside. The bottom of the new matched the seat pan perfectly.

Here is the old foam.

Anyone know why it's 09 and higher? Was there a significant change to the seat in '09?

I ordered a kit a few days ago, but won't even have the bike until next Wednesday. (grumble grumble) Anyway, I have a friend in the automobile upholstery business and he'll do the installation for me. He did an old CB750 Honda I used to own and beefed up that kit with extra foam. Great job.

+1. Will the width be an issue when standing, especially when going slow, rockcrawling downhills?

I did 110 miles in the Georgia mountains today. My first ride on the new seat. Mostly paved with some dirt forest service roads and about 5 miles of rocky jeep trail. Sitting down for long periods is way better than the stock seat. It seems to be a harder foam , but the extra width makes it much less painful. I had no problem at all standing. It seemed more narrow at the front than the stocker.I did have mine cut down about an inch in the front half so I don't know if it would be different than the standard height or not.The only time my legs hit were when I intentionally leaned back to see where it would make contact.I hit a few small jumps , up hills , down hills, I don't think the extra width will be a problem . All in all ,if I had borrowed this seat and had to give it back after my ride today. I would order one.

Anyone know why it wouldn't fit an 06? It only lists '09 and up...
