Sand tire?

Sand tire?
Hey guys did some searching but has anyone had any luck with a good DOT sand tire, or maybe if I have to but don't really want to a strickly off road tire? I ride up north Michigan and the trails are real loose sand. Any help would be great. One last thing going up a tire size might help too.

RE: Sand tire?
Michelon s12 soft terrain tires. These tires are awesome world of difference from stock. Michelon run small so I put a 120 on the back instead of a 100. I race and ride my klx in southern jersey so I wanted a great tire for the sand. They are NOT dot but I didn't care becase I wanted traction. Best upgrade I have done to my bike.

I actually ride northern MI mostly as well. I am from Newberry in the U.P. originally, and
ride the U.P. alot, but now live outside Grand Rapids and ride mostly around Luther/Leroy
ocasionally around Cadilac. Anywhere nearby? Anyway, I can relate about the sand issue,
the stock 603 is a no-go. I now run the kenda trackmaster 760 100/100 18, love it! Next
time however, I will go to the 110 or 120, but probably stick with the Tracmaster.

Yeah, I think most of MI trails are similar to that. The trackmaster front works well also,
that is what I have. They are inexpensive as well, I think I paid $85 total for front and rear
and that was at the Kaw dealer, so you may get them even cheaper elsewhere. Expect around
low 40 dollar range for each.

The stock 603 are junk off road! Not a bad on road tire but no good in the loose stuff. Ichanged the front tire to the excella 213and that made a world of a difference. Their is a little more road noise from theexcella but its the price you have to pay.The stock tireis on the right.

RE: Sand tire?
Kenda TM II 110/100 on the rear......better than the 120 for our bike, I had one....and a Pirelli MXSS 80/100/21 "Super Soft" for the front, its dot legal and great in really soft sugar sand and mud and way more agressive than the MT21.......but there is not much rubber touching asphalt if ya gotta brake, but if you're comfortable sliding and slipping a little on the hard stuff (like any dirt rider is) it's a great tire......I'll definately get another one whenthis onewears out. It rides on asphalt better than it looks.
