Looks and sounds great! Have too admit..I'm a little envious..I ordered my Muzzy about 3 weeks ago..and STILL have 2-3 weeks of waiting! What really sucks is that the Muzzy factory is only 3 hours from my house.[:'(] Congrats on the sweet pipe!

Todd,
I think it's time for yet another "sticky" here.
One with the part number, price and sound file of the different exhaust systems so we can do some "one click comparisons".
What do you think?

I think that's the pipe im gonna get when i get one. The craftsmanship of it looks second to none and it sounds good also. A green tip would seal the deal for me. Everyone and their dog has a Muzzy. Had one on my 2 ZX7's back in the day. They constantly vibrated and got stained easily. Not knocking the KLX Muzzy, but it is nice to have an alternative to the Muzzy's and Pro-Circuit's.

You're so much better then Glenn! Sorry about that!
I really do appreciate you and all that you're doing over here. It's just a great forum with more information than anyother place in cyberspace that I know of.
And you are one of the key ingredients!

www.chaparral-racing.com is where i got it. i was lucky bc most places are out of stock right now and www.biggunexhaust.com said they won't have anymore for a few weeks. you have to get the full system for a klx300r bc they don't list one for our bike yet but the klx300r one fits no problem. its about 450 for shipping and everything. fyi, the slip on exhaust for the 300 will not fit, you need the headpipe and muffler.
you also need to rejet the carburator when you add a exhaust which will add about $55 to the bill.
just do a search in this forum and you will find everything you need, part numbers, intructions, etc.

Thanks man yea I went down to my local dealer and they have one in their books for a 96-06 KLX250 and was about 459 + tax so I was gonna pick that up and what about the jetting? how hard is it and stuff like that and what kind do I get and how much is that? and why do u have to switch out the jets if you get an exhaust? just trying to ask some ?'s and I don't even know how to do a forum search on that topic lol I am new to this but wil get better was on here looking stuff up for like 4 hours yesterday and one guy said u can get the green cap for the end instead of red do we have a part # for that too? thanks and I appreciate this stuff alot guys!

the green cap is at biggunexhaust.com under accessories. they have all different colors- $39. anytime you let more air out, you have to adjust how much air/fuel go in. this is what the jets do, along with needle changes. i think the needle used is the oem one, i think you just move it. the only other things you may need is a main jet and pilot jet. $55 sounds extremely high, $2-3 for jets is what i pay when i jetted my Harley. you do not need a jet kit, just look up the part #'s on the forum home for klx 250s, buy the jets and don't forget the KDX airbox cover. also guys, why is drilling out the slide hole important. is it so the carb will work quicker since it relies on engine vacuum to open the slide and we want a larger hole to get the fuel quicker? can someone elaborate on this? and do you have to remove the carb to drill it or even rejet it at all? thanks
