Ok not sure what happened to the text on the first go around so lets try this again......

I ordered a 2 gallon gas tank and matching size storage container from Rotopax over the holidays. I wasnt crazy about the overall finish of the storage container....there was a small gap in the lid that Rotopax claims is there for a reason. They still went ahead and sent me out another one that looked better than the first. Gas tank and mounting system look great. Customer service was very quick with responses. I would recommend them if you were considering auxiliary tanks of any kind.

Extra fuel would be great to have.

I picked up a rotopax mount and a 1Gal rotopax fuel container. The 2 Gal seemed a little big - of course there's always a trade-off, less fuel = less weight and bulk, but having the extra gallon might be nice.

I wish that rotopax made the black storage containers in the 1 gal size - this was another factor that almost swayed me to get the 2 gal gas, so I could mount the 2 gal storage container on top as arickrock did above.

I saw a set up with a black 2 gallon storage and a 1 gallon gas on top. Any reason you couldnt go that route?

That's an option - it would still be nice to have a 1 gal storage container, but having the 2Gal storage with the 1 Gal gas on top would work. I could even put the 1 Gal gas on the bottom and the storage on top - would lower the CG by a few inches (probably not enough to notice though) and would make the storage container more accessible.

Yea I dont ride around with the gas tank on. Probably wont need it until a longer ride is planned in the spring. Currently just have one storage pac back there with a bungee net and whatever extra cold weather gear I want to haul around.
