Rockin' it out - A Ride, er, Play Report

Really hard to do on a stock KLX. You guys on the bigger bore bikes can compensate through the obstacle by throttling when in trouble. On a stock KLX you'd have to hit it right initially and clear the bugger. This thread is a good argument for a skid plate or just staying on the sidelines... I'd give it a go on the KDX. Pretty ballsy in any case. Good times.

Thanks, that's a Canon PowerShot SD750 point and shoot. I've always been happy with its photos. I admit, I did help them along a little bit with some modest color post processing, though. But they were pretty good already right out of the camera.

I thought it was a better camera. The saturation and colors are vivid.
Still looks like a fun day out there.
Like I always say, even if I am falling over and eating dirt, its better then working !!

It was a fun day. That little loop out spill was nothing. I held on as long as I could until it was clear I was not going to save it, then I reluctantly let her go. But I'll take that any day over a close encounter with a tree. Trees are very unforgiving. Hell, I'm 43 y/o and I hopped right back up, dusted myself off, and went right back at that old rock again and again. That stuff is fun. And the one with my bike laying on the rock, that was a result of a stall - very rare with the rekluse clutch but it does happen occasionally when conditions are just right. I was up on the pegs, teetering on top of the rock with a dead engine - like I said, just a quick hop off, no harm done. My amazing cat-like reflexes help, though.
On the camera, I recently got a superb dSLR, but it's too big, bulky, heavy, and expensive to take on rides. We could have got some great shots with it, though. Especially in "continuous mode". Just hold the shutter down and you get no less than 6 12.3 megapixel photos per second, all perfectly in focus, for as long as you hold down the release - click-click-click-click-click-click-click .... Talk about some heavy duty firepower in the photo arena - that camera would have been great there. And those would have made for some real nice sequences. With the p&s, though, you're lucky if you can get one off in focus, let alone two from the same sequence. As soon as I can pry loose some funds, I will be in the market for a better p&s to take on rides. For now, though, the SD750 will have to do. It's good for stills, but not great for action shots.
