Default ride report 8-30-08

My 8 year old son and I did about 25 miles of the Lackawana trails today. Its an old railbed that has had the tracks ripped up. It is a lot of big railroad stones and lots of whoops. Some of the whoops are higher than the seat of my sons ttr90. Here's a couple pics, nothing too major.

Very nice, some guys want to run a railroad bed in my parts tomorrow, but I checked the weather and there is a chance of thundershowers...the ride is 115kms round trip and crosses two rivers (bridges modified for ski-doos), and is quite a nice ride w/o any mudholes or nasty stuff. If i go I will try ad take some pics.

ps...I love ur bike...hoping to get mine to look that sweet some day..lol

I really had wanted to get him a klx110. and was waiting for the dealer to get a green one in. While in the process of waiting I found the ttr for sale used. It was kind of a no brainer to get. It fit him better than the 110 and was only $600 on an 04'

Where the ttr really shines is its just like the klx and has a magic button for an e-start. The bike starts easily with the kick starter but the button comes in handy when there is a tip over, which can be quite often with the little ones(and some old ones, lol), wheres it seems to flood and is quite hard to start.

Overall, he will need a "tall" seat next year and maybe a few upgrades and then it will be off to a kx65 for the following year. Then Dad will have to get his game on because I really don't want to be smoked by a 10 year old on a 65.

Yeah I know its coming Finger. Whats going to be worse is when his sister is riding and they are both leaving the old man behind.

Your cheeks will probably hurt from smiling....just don't mind the dirt and dust roosted into your teeth.

Good story and pics. Father and son time, treasure it. I'd give anything to be able to afford to buy my boy a bike.
