Riddle me this!

RE: Riddle me this!
I disagree with the premise of your post. My 2001 KDX200 has never had a piston or ring change and I've ridden it hard last season on the track, racing other bikes and in the wilderness on multiple occasions. The bike still screams...
Well a KDX is a long way from a high strung bike.
Who says you have to change out the piston or rings every five races?
Service manual on most 2 stroke MX bikes.
if you were to put aftermarket things like a pipe, jets, reeds, high volt stator, air filter, arrestor and maybe a new plug it will bolw 65hp out of the water
No way maybe 70 at the most!
Are you really saying a 600cc engine has 126 HP?
Yep
Whats the HP of a 600cc superbike?
I dunno maybe 110
Is your snowmobile a 4 cyl?
Twin
65 HP sounds like at the wheel for the bike
nope at the crank
p.s. i cant wait until 2smoke bikes get fuel injection.[&:] im gonna throw a party when that happens
it will NEVER happen! four strokes are the future of motocycles
Nownew snowmobiles have huge *** mufflers on them and are being regulated for pollution and sound out put now, something thatMX bikes don't have to.
The snowmobile is a multiple cylinder I presume so there is a big part of the power.
I can't see how having one extra cylinder and 100cccreates 60 more horsepower
So can someone explain this!
Well maybe forest will chime in and tell everybody the answer!

RE: Riddle me this!
you will need rings before you get 10,000 miles if you want to keep cylinder pressure within spec. here is a link to tha latest high tech 2 stroke.http://corp.brp.com/NR/rdonlyres/3F0...ckgrounder.pdf

But really, what is the point of your original post?

RE: Riddle me this!
Well, kind of getting tired of the which muffler is better post. Thought it would be something else to think about, and spur discussion.
Okay two parts, even if that one KX could possibly put out that much power,it's completely one off, impractical and unreliable. You could do that to any engine, apples to oranges.
I could add a OEM supplied muffler and take the horsepower up to 138. So that puts us at about 23 HP per 100cc.on 87 Octane, completely reliable and under warranty. And still last 10,000 miles, all while the engine works ALOT harder than one in a bike.
I mean even a lowly 500cc mild mannered carburated trail sled puts out105 HP.
While my sled is fuel injected the carburated version still puts out 120 HP. On 87 octane mind you.
Now I realize fuel injection is here for motorcycles it's still just 2 dimensional throttle body I believe, only taking in engine RPM and throttle position into account.
Why are motorcycles so far behind in technology compared to everything else? Because there 3rd world people movers?
Sleds have had throttle body injection for almost 20 years.
Okay second part why the hell are little dirt bikes so damn expensive for what they are?
No offense Nobrakes but especially KTM, (oh and Harley, really $25,000 and air cooled! What the hell!)
So I spend $6000.00 on a sled and get Batteryless Fuel Injection, Oil injection, knock sensors, exhaust sensors, electonically controlled power valves, throttle positioning sensors, engine temp sensors,3 dimensional spark ignition mapping, digital readout, with 20 or so displays, (engine temp, fuel level,hr meter,3 tripmeters, odometer, clock, even outside air temp, and on and on) electronic reverse where the engine slows to almost a stop and then starts back up in reverse, and say 225 pounds more raw material, including alot more aluminum.
Or For $7000.00. you can buy a dirtbike with what 2 little titanium intake valves?
And that pretty much sums of the advancement of them in the last 20 years?
Okay 3 more questions.
1. Of the over 2000 religions in the world which is the true and correct one?
2. Republican or Democrat
3. What is the meaning of life?
LOL
Have a good Easter everybody...
