Rich and cutting out off idle

Guys, when your carb faults, or you buy a KLX with a faulting carb, you really have to know what you are doing to fix it - you have to be a "CVK Guy" or willing to let your bike sit until you become a "CVK Guy".. Read my "CVK problems" thread, on my signature line below, to start your journey toward becoming a "CVK Guy"- while reading, research anything you don't know about or understand, until you do..
LenD probably actually managed to fully disassemble his CVK - quite an accomplishment for a CVK newbie - and promptly lost the needle jet.. Anyone that does not know what the needle jet is or where it goes will then reassemble the carb without one, rendering the main fueling system non-functional.. (Idle/choke/and under 1/4th throttle) fueling system is separate, therefore, unaffected..

End of this story - via PM..
Needle jet was lost, not identified as lost, therefore, not reinstalled..
Against all odds, the needle jet was found.
Now reinstalled, bike runs perfectly..
This is usually NOT how this "plays out".. This carb was placed in a parts cleaner, obviously only partially disassembled, and the parts cleaner "captured" the needle jet when it rattled out of the carb housing.. Normally, the needle jet falls out onto the "shop" floor and is gone forever.
How bout this - Don't take your carb off your bike unless you know where (and what) is :
1. the emulsion tube
2. the needle jet
3. the pilot jet
4. proper routing for all vacuum hoses (and drain lines) that come off of the CVK.
Also, one should have read AND UNDERSTAND the "CVK problems" link I provide in my signature line ( look down at the bottom of this post.)..
LenD's bike was only down, at least, 5 days because he got lucky and found his needle jet.. Count on at least 2 weeks downtime for when you lose yours.
Yeah, I'm being a "dick" about this - but how do you get the message across to de-evolved egocentric macho-men/women ( I shoulda just said the Cro-Mag race ) that thinks they can "do it all" , when in fact they are "hacking" every step of the way during a carb teardown and repair..
Long live the Neanders !

It does open the butterfly.
Thanks for the correction.

I'm going with on a CV carb, the throttle does NOT control the slide. Maybe it does on a Kawa, but I sold my carb so I can't definitively say. I think the one who knows is keeping quiet, it's more fun.
