Where do you ride that? No taillight & street tires?

Decided against the white plastics and going back to black. Sanding them down and then spraying so they are extra gloss black.

I found some parts from an old project and decided to throw on a 2008 R6 taillight to the bike. Looks sick, brighter than the last one i was using. When I hit the brake, it lit up my entire garage. I'm not done with the bezel yet, it's just mounted right now. I need to go pick up some plastic sheets to finish it up.

I also got both side panels to the shape I want, now I just need to finish smoothing them out before paint. The process is long but once it's complete the panels will look factory

And here's a bonus shot of my headlight

+1 looks like some nice work. Not all hacked up. Some shots during process would be cool.

What's this, "i'll head back over to supermoto junkie" thin skin???

Guess i'm used to more active boards haha.

No process shots, I always forget. So I am finishing the rear fender right now, the light cover looks pretty good. I decided to use krylon gloss black after I sanded it all down.. I'm on the 3rd coat now and it just looks terrible. Not sure what went wrong after 5 coats I'm going to clear coat it, if it's still bad I might actually shoot myself

Paint didn't turn out very good. Luckily I only tried the back fender first. I switched to a new front fender as well, it fits perfectly with the lines

My other camera died, here's some low res ones until tomorrow when I get a chance to take some real ones. I only get 1 day off every week and I never get a chance to finish my project bike

Look up plastic welding. From the top, I cut where the panel goes outward, and removed that section and plastic welded the two flat panels together. Of course I trimmed them quite a bit as well

For the rear fender, I took an '08 R6 taillight, PW'd brackets to hold it in place. Then I took about 4 inches off a front fender and cut the right shape out of the middle. once I got it looking good, I PW'd the cover over all the nasty seams and welds/brackets. Sand, paint, BAM bright taillight that looks killer

My next project after I finish painting will be making the headlight bezel. I'm still kinda drawing out what i want. I'll be using the OEM top section at least
Cutting the left side of the subframe and welding a new support.
Considering taller seat foam.. we'll see
It's about time for a new rear tire as well so I am probably going with a 140/70-17.
Shorty levers, hand guards

Once I get bored I might work on the motor.. that always means something bad for the bike at hand. It's usually my blowing the motor up making it fast or just dropping in a bigger motor. I wish the DRZ could fit, too tall though
