Replacement carburator

Hey John - I like the butt saver.
I read your description but have a question for you. How did you attach the 2 halves of the bar cover to the vinyl?
Looks like a great idea. I have a sweetcheeks laying around but it makes the seat way too wide. Your version only increases the width by 2-3" which is just about right.

I agree with you 'bout the sweet cheeks, ridiculously wide
Originally, I had 2 pieces of 1 1/4 PVC pipe in it (that's what we made the trip with, and it worked great, but after I got back home I noticed the bar pad and decided to use it instead.
I used a piece of vinyl 10" x 24" and just laid it across the seat, placed the PVC so it would be just above flush with top of seat, then wrapped the vinyl around it and glued the laps together with vinyl glue which seemed to be plenty strong enough.
Later, my friend's wife offered to sew it together, so that's what I have now with exception of replacing PVC with cross bar pad and piece of wood.
Here's photos to make it a little clearer.
The wood is only 8" long so that the transition from narrow to wide is smoother.
The wood is just a piece of 2x4 which I ran thru the tablesaw on a 45 deg angle.
