I think if you keep water out of it I think you could go at least twice what they suggest. The material gets stiff and packed and hard. I helped a friend rebuild one a couple weeks ago that probably had 150 hrs. on it and it needed it.

I repacked my q4 after almost 2years, not sure on the hours but it was a couple thousand miles, the old stuff looked fine. I wouldn't worry about it until you hear it getting loud. I put pics in a thread on here if you want to search for it.

Yea my buddy bought the FMF stuff and it was nice, it was an old one on a 4wheeler that most places said was too outdated for parts and he needed some. He called FMF and they sent him a new end cap and a universal kit and with some elbow grease it looked new when done.
