Renthal handlebars
Looking to replace my stock 2010 bars. Wanting bars that accommodate the stock cables and fittings so it looks like the Renthal 971-08 and 605-01 bars are recommended in other posts. Based on the pics it shows the 971-08 (Renthal 7/8 in. Handlebars) coming with a "crossbar" whereas the 605-01 (Renthal CR High Bend Fatbar Handlebar) are just the bars. Does the crossbar matter that much? The 971-08 is about $10 cheaper but the 605-01 is beefier...

Fatbars are stronger so don't really need the crossbar. Keep in mind you will need adapters to fit the fatbars to your triple clamp. Which will make the bars sit higher and may require longer cables. I went with the ProTaper seven eights KX Woods bend. They have a little more rise than the stock so I had to use a longer cable. A cable from a KLX300 is a few mm longer and was just long enough to work.

7/8" bars are also called SE (Seven Eights), so maybe look for those to. Depends on who's selling them and what they call them. Those same bars are called or labeled different. Just so you know. Pro Taper also makes good bars incase your looking for different sizes or bends. Just some more options for ya.
Here's a size chart for just about every bar out there. This may help or just confuse you.

Thank you Sir. I like reading all your posts. Golden knowledge there. Got my brand spankin' new 2014 KLX 250. Gonna break her in nice, get my license (hope I pass, been ridin' since about 1970 hehe). Then do the MCM cam mod and go from there. I'm still in good shape but at my age I have the fear, so more subdued these days.
