Default Relocating the footpegs

Has anyone tried relocating the footpeg mounts backwards a couple of inches? I'm sure it would require a bit of creative welding and fabrication but has anyone attempted it, or thought about it?

try drc foot pegs, there a bit wider but all the width is back, almost dont like it, took some getting use too. sounds like you might even want more.

Why? Well I'm about 6'2" and when I'm riding around in my normal position I always have the ***** of my feet on the pegs. It would be nice if the pegs were under my arches. I also think it would feel better standing to have the pegs back a bit, especially in rough terrain, descents, and steep climbs. I lean more towards technical riding with this bike and I'd like to have it feel a bit more like a trials bike. Something like the Scorpa T-Ride is what I have in mind: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1049498030223

The How is the tough part.

I would put on some riser bars first if your 6'2". I'm 6'1" and they seem a little low especially when I'm standing. I've always been better off riding on the ***** of my feet intead of the arches. I seem to have more controll especially when standing. Also when you are cornering, you want to have more weight over the front end so that your front doesn't wash out. If you move the pegs back, that is going to transfer your weight back. For the hill climbs and desents, I just stick my *** way back to get my weight back. The damn tool pouch usually hits me in the *** when I do that, but if your pegs are back, you will probably have your weight too far back. Try some tall bars first, you will probably feel a lot more comfortable

definally go with the bars over moving the pegs. i wish you live by me to try my set up, the drc pegs, 3/4 inch risers and tusk atv bend big bars, im 6 even and can stand stight up and my arms still arent completely (but close to) locked. next time i get bars, im actally going to go a bit lower to get a better attack postion...

...but, that bike in the video is bad ***, i love how thin it is, bet its like riding a power moutain bike.
