redneck skidplate
If there's two things us rednecks like, it's camo & diamond plate. I had a lot of fun with this little project & I think I'm going to keep going with an upper guard for the hose and clutch cable to the bottom of the rad. I used 1/8" alum plate with 1/8x1/2 reinforcement at the upper edges for added rigidity. I added a layer of peelnseal( bituminus sheet w/alum face for metal roof repairs) for vibration deadening. I peened all the pop rivets flat, and used silicone rtv to bond all pieces.I ended up with a cavity in front of rhe stator. I think I may try to fit a canvas snap lid over it and move the toolkit down off the fender. Then if I could come up with a good way to carry a water bottle, I'd like to loose the rack & address the turn signals. Anyway, like I said this really was a rewarding project, cutting paper templates etc. it was fun and easy.

Dang Dark!
That's some nice looking redneck work.
I don't need one, but serious for those that do, what would you charge to make one or some? Nice coverage. Go test it out and let us know how it survives.

Thanks guys,I got to work on the top section today. I encourage anyone that doesn't have a plate to build your own. I haven't used a tape measure yet. It's all like " yeah, that looks about right". I like projects like that!

I've been carrying a old canteen on the rack, but hate the weight up high.
I found the perfect insulated 1 litre bottle called "The Fridge" at Publics grocery store for $4.
Daisy keepin me company.
