ok, new part it, no battery as yet, but every thing work alot better, and i can tell there is higher voltage with the brighter lights, and there is no short, ad least the voltmeter said so. new battery tomorrow and i will find out some times next week if that was the problem.

tm33 and full stain tune are on the way so they should be going on soon.

Hello everyone I need help with finding out the correct wiring of the wires out of the rectifier to the stator wires. I replaced the rectifier and the one I replaced with came to me with the wires cut. Here is what I have 3 yellow wires coming from the rectifier and 4 wires coming from the stator. At the connector which was on the original rectifier were the 3 wires and the other side of the connector were the 4 wires coming from the stator. I thought I had connected them correct so once the bike were running the connector got hot and melted. I replaced the connector socket but I'm not sure I have the correct wires together because the yellow wires (3) get hot but it depends on which wires are connected together. I think the problem is because I don't know which of the (4) wires coming from the stator should be together. So my question to anyone on here can you tell me which wire goes with each other or how can I solve this matter. Thanks in advance..

What year and model is your bike? The schematics I have in the service manual are for older KLX's and don't match up with what you have coming from the rectifier.

There is no stator on the wiring diagram, only a rectifier. Y-Y into the rectifier, the White is the ignition. I would send it back unusable.
Your going to need a electronics shop figure it out, other than trial and error. How easy is it to change the wires and test it, then go back in and change to the next setting?
And how are you going to figure out when it is right, without burning something out?

durielk, which wiring diagram are you referring to? It sounds like his bike is a dual sport which has a more robust charging system.
