RE: rearend problems
Uh yea, try riding for 150 miles!! Yes my butt hurts every time I ride for an hour or so, the only thing that helps is to stand on the pegs to give your backside a rest. Blacktop, gravel roads, and even tight technical trails it doesn't matter, you have to stand sometimes. I thought of those bicycle pants with the build in pads, but I'm too cheap.

Yes, I have the same problem and here are the 3 options I'm considering:
1) Remove the seat cover, add more/better foam and make it WIDER, then re-cover with NON-grippy cover.
2) Buy a sheepskin seat cover (I think they look so Mad Max - it's awesome)
3) Wear the girly little Lycra biking shorts with the padded bum.
I'm trying to avoid option 3 - I shouldn't have to wear special clothes to be comfortable.
I'm finding that my butt is becoming tougher as I ride the bike more though. It's not quite as bad now as it was the first few weeks, but still not comfortable enough!

4) Sweet Cheeks : http://www.cycle-analyst.com/Sweet_Cheeks.htm
I haven't tried one of these myself, but have heard good reviews of it.

I don't know.....Sheepskin on a dirt bike? "Any idea where they were headed?" "we just got a report that they were last seen heading west on I80 towards Colorado." "Aah, did you get a make on the vehicle?" "Yes they were driving an 84.......Sheep Dog."

RE: rearend problems
I myself use the padded bike shorts their is nothing worse then a bad case of monkey butt. Without them 100 to 150 miles and i am hurting,With the shorts the most i gone is about 275 miles in a day and the last ten miles i started to feel the hurt. At this point you stand or pick a cheek and say theirs no place like home

RE: rearend problems
Happy to hear I'm not the only one with a sore butt! I've put about 2000 miles on, and every time I get home from any ride over 50 miles the soreness is there. The first day with the bike, rode about 100 miles and man that hurt. It's not quite as severe anymore, but theres still some discomfort. I'm leaning towards the grip material as the culprit. I've found that adjusting riding position and standing as much as possible helps alot.
