Yes, the rubber seal on the bearing can be removed and put back on. Just make sure the seal is flat again before re-installing it. I added some wheel bearing grease to my front ones since they were starting to make a squick noise. One thing to note, the bearings need to be pounded out and the new ones need to be pressed in, for them to be replaced. So its not an easy thing to do without the correct tools. But the bright side is that the bearings are a one piece set. So no races to remove, just the whole bearing.

Great info there Relic! Thanks!!! Most larger towns have a bearing/hose/belt etc distibutor. You can walk in and pay something close to the price Relic put up, have your parts right away and not pay shipping. (If they don't have it they will have it for you in a day or two). I just wrote those part no's in my owners manual. I write compatible parts from other bikes and good info like that in the back for quick reference.

They may not be in your area but Motion Industries is a big bearing distributor. Dealer locator here http://www.motionindustries.com/moti...ocationsMI.jsp

These places are also a good spot to buy lip seals as well if ever needed. And the beauty about the seals is they are all numbered the same too. ex: 4 12 35 This means 4 mm thick, fits a 12 mm shaft, and outside diameter is 35 mm. Even if you cant read the number- with good measurement you can figure out what ya need. Arctic Cat wanted $37 for rear shaft seal on my quad- I picked it up for $11 at the same place I bought the bearings.
