Rear Suspension

RE: Rear Suspension
Hey guys... looking for more input on this topic. I adjusted the rebound and compression to the same as sdunne and may play with it some more. I also did the same as justin and tightened the spring - about 1/2" worth of threads (no.. i didn't count them ). Anyone else tinker with the settings yet? I haven't adjusted the front springs yet as I haven't bought a jack for the bike. Ya... i must admit - the days of lifting my old CR onto a 5 gallon jug with one arm are over.
I weigh 190. I'm 5'11. I almost want this bike to be a bit taller - so I hope by doing these simple mods, it helps. Any suggestions would be great.

RE: Rear Suspension
Just wind it up/down. Set the sag, and your good.
No need to undo the shock.
This will help.

RE: Rear Suspension
So on that youtube link I think they put in anfully adjustable rear shock. Teh guy seems to be screwing it with his hands! Anyhow I did the measurements and then screwed the spring down...? I measured the distance again and nothing had changed however the rebound is much better.
So all in all I think I adjusted it the right way for my weight...185lbs?
I will have to ride some time this week to try it out and then post a report.
many thanks

RE: Rear Suspension
Iwas just flipping through my ownwers manuals ( I have 2 of them) they are both different one has stock suspension settings and the other does not so here they are for all who are interested
REAR: Compression 16 turns out from fully seated (softest setting)
Rebound is set at 12turns out from fully seated (fairly soft)
FRONT: Compression 8 turns from fully seated (Middle)
Front fork AIR PRESSURE is set at atmospheric pressure, first lift the bike on a stand remove screws on the top of the fork tubes let pressure equalize and replace screws.
This info is on pages 123-128 of the owners manual that has this info. and here for those who do not have this information.
