Default Rear Suspension

Tonight I adjusted the rear suspension. I weigh around 195 and noticed it needed some adjustments. So I tightened up the spring a little and played around with the rebound damping adjustment aswell as the compression damping adjuster on pg 125 & 126 in the manual. I noticed a big difference mostly by setting the rebound damping adjustment counter clockwise 10 clicks from the factory position. The manual said the suspension is set for a 150lb rider. So I recommend doing this to anyone who hasn't if your over 150 and beatin it up in the trails. You notice a big difference when the rear shock rebounds. Its alot quicker like it should be.

That's the one area of the bike I've not messed with yet that I want to explore. I added compression to the rear spring but no other changes yet. At 210lbs, I'm sure I need to make some but I've never owned a bike with a real suspension (other than my BMW) so I'm a novice in this area.

the compression and rebound only adjust to 16 turns out from fully seated position all clicks after that dont adjust anything. Right now Im running 4 clicks out comp in front, 10 clicks out comp rear, and 14 clicks out rebound rear.

todd at 210 you should bring out the rebound adjustment. Play around with it and see what feels right. you'll be glad you did. I hit some jumps today after work in the trails and it makes a more comfortable landing. so far my only complaint is the seat. What where they thinking for an enduro bike. After about 15-20 min my *** is killin me everyday and am now being forced into sitting further back on the seat. Can't wait till they come out with an after market. If anybody knows of a more comfortable seat, please let me no...

Some company makes a gel seat for the drz 400 since it has a more uncomfortable seat than the klx. Would it work or maybe another aftermarket seat?

Today I went ro the mx track With those suspension settings I described above. Bike reacted great I even over shot this table and landed at the end of the landing and just lightly bottomed. I wish I would have gotten pictures of that but just picture me a little higher and flying farther.

nice pic.. looks like a good old adrenaline rush. Ya the suspension is definatly sweet. How much do you way seth? Just wondering in comparison to my self. I haven't totally bottomed out yet by myself. I took my girl off roading the other day and bottomed out a lil, its really not meant for two to be hittin the trails but she loves it and had to share the rush..
