i only had my bike for 10 months now and was kinda bored with it, i was thinkin' about trading it, doing major mods, etc... i was getting alot of thinkin' and not ridin'..... THEN i got off my butt and did something so simple i got a 48tooth protaper sprocket a final drive gold x ring chain and put them on!!!! holy crap.....what a fun bike now. now i shift at 7-8k and 1st is a creeper gear.. i actually hit the rev limiter for the first in 3rd i was doing 50mph. this bike is fun now..it was geared way too high for me from the factory it felt like some sorta street dogged out castrated half breed of a bike. now it feel straight up fun! good move for $128. if you are bored and stock...want some fun just do it!!

Thats funny, another guy did exactly the same thing with an 07!!

 

I went with the 13t front and the 44t works rear,lime green 520 chain.It goes as sweet as it looks now.

 

That's some good prices on the chain and sprocket. Elaborate. Supplier!. Do they ship internationally? Are they online/Eshop?

 

I went 13 front (honda xr650 sprocket see your friendly honda dealer) and 45 rear www.chaingang.com.au with a 108 link chain from chaingang
