Maier klx300 mx fender
Just finished installing a Maier klx300 mx fender on my 06. Here are some pics.... I think its much cleaner look than the stock fender..... + it dosent look like a farm bike anymore.

Yeah im happy with it.... dont know how the tail light will go once i get mud all over it.... but time will tell and it was cheap.
No welding involved (i dont know how to weld)..... Just some cutting....... I just took the old fender off and cut the big cross member off, then cut through the middle of the back cross piece and with a big bar I bent the rear frame up so it would tuck under the new fender instead of it sticking down. a few coats of anti-rust paint and i was done.
I could have cut all the rear frame off but wanted to keep some strength in the rear + I wanted to attach the rear tail light to the frame instead of the plastic fender.

Obviously depending on how one uses their KLX, removing the rear rack on the KLX would be a real no-no for me. If I wanted a suave looking racerboy appearance, the last bike I would have purchased would be a KLX...LOL!
Function aside, however, those fender/taillight mods do look good. I just couldn't give up the rack.

I did mine this weekend. Opted to chop the rear fender frame a little rather than try to bend and shape. The taillight mount is aluminum and feels very secure bolted to the fender. I opted for much larger turn signals than usually come with the taillight kits. Dumping the farm style rear fender and splash guard does wonders for the lines.

What no write up?....ha! just joshin ya...... it looks really good! looks good with the front fender as well! do you mind if I ask the same question I always ask? how does it seal up to the lower fender on the underside?
