Re-spring & re-valve, and/or replace forks?
#21
Well, I took the day off work today to get my new springs. My forks are 0.5kg/mm and the rear is 6.7kg/mm. Moto Pro recommended 0.48 kg/mm on front and 6.4 kg/mm on the back, but I'm happy with the tougher springs I think. Also, notice Moto Pro say you should have 10WT oil in the forks where I think I still have the stock oil which is 5WT - so not sure about that.
Not sure what my clickers are set on, but they said the setting were a good "middle of the road" setting for me to start working from. Need to read up on how to feel "what's right", but at least they set the sag on the rear properly for me.
Now, to find the time to go out and test it
Oh, I watched them do the forks and they left the forks on the bike. Simply took the bars off, removed the caps from the top and took the springs out. That being said, they had all the right tools for the job, so if you were to do it at home you'd probably want to take the forks off.
From the ride home, the front end dive has pretty much disappeared, and the bike doesn't squat down as badly when I climb on it now. So I am pretty sure it's going to be a big improvement when I do get offroad again.

He did have to machine down the spring guides/holders a little at the bottom of the forks as the new springs were a thicker gauge - hence there was a smaller opening for the guide to slip in to.
