To re-jet or not ?

To re-jet or not ?
G'day from another Aussie.
I purchased a new 09 KLX250S a few weeks ago, have now done 1500kms
Current mods
- carby slide holes filled
- snorkel removed
- Staintune muffler (original header pipe)
- Retnal bars, grips, barkbusters, leaver ***** cut off.
To be done soon;
- 13 tooth drive sprocket (dealer back ordered)
- Rear fender trim
My question:
I read most people are re-jetting the carb after opening the air in/out
I am still running original jets, I have been checking the spark plug and it looks pefect. I do get slight poping when backing off from high revs under load, however I am guessing the fuel air ratio is pretty good.
Should I re-jet ? is there some thing I am missing ?

No mate. The Oz bikes get a #132 main and a #35 pilot standard. Plenty if you only removed the snorkel. If you fit a high flow air filter and take the lid off the airbox you can rock #135 or a #138 main jet. If you do go with the bigger main jet I recommend raising the stock needle 1.5mm with a spacer.
My recommendations come from my Oz spec 07. It could well be a shot in the dark for the 09 model.

Mine was stock and ran fine with no mods at all, like yours a little popping when rolling off the throttle. I still have the air box lid and snorkle on. Only thing was it could be hard to start if left sitting for a week or more. As westie said this is an american site and their carbs are setup different to ours.
Cheers
p.s. mine is an 06

'ACR' is the Auto Compression Release on the end of the exhaust cam. It only works during engine starts.
